A Polish tax advisor clarified the conditions for deducting 100% VAT on leasing a camper (up to 3.5 t, value approx. PLN 195,000 gross) used exclusively for paid rental. Full VAT deduction is possible without submitting VAT-26 form or maintaining detailed mileage records if the vehicle is used solely for rental. From 2026, leasing costs will be subject to a new limit of PLN 100,000, and CO2 emission levels will also be taken into account.

Will motorhomes soon require a tachograph?

The European Commission has clarified that EU member states can exempt privately used motorhomes and motorhome-trailer combinations over 7.5 tonnes from mandatory tachograph rules. This follows a proposal that would have affected vehicles towing a trailer or with a special loading device, impacting approximately 4,700 vehicles in Germany. The decision aims to reduce costs and legal uncertainty for private users, with industry associations calling for swift national implementation.
