Sabak Bernam plans eco-tourism expansion with motorhome and caravan sites

Authorities in Sabak Bernam, Malaysia, announced plans to expand eco-tourism, including a nature resort in mangrove areas and a network of motorhome and caravan sites. The initiative aims to attract tourists without harming the environment. A 1 million Malaysian ringgit allocation supports the development of Pantai Bumi Hijau, which already sees up to 3,000 visitors on weekends and holidays.

Malaysian Deputy PM visits Bernama motorhome at ETCon26

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof toured the Bernama motorhome displayed at the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26) in Kuala Lumpur. The motorhome, named Bernama Mobile Studio, was launched a year ago to enable live interviews in the field. It is the first media vehicle in Malaysia to use a recreational vehicle for reporting, powered by electric batteries. The three-day conference attracted about 4,000 participants from over 60 countries.

Chery launches Lepas in Europe: first is a large hybrid SUV

Chery has introduced a new sub-brand Lepas in the UK. The first model is the plug-in hybrid SUV Lepas L8, arriving in showrooms in Q3 2026. It features a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, an electric motor, and an 18 kWh battery, with an electric-only range of up to 89 km. Later, the mid-size L6 (with petrol, hybrid, and full EV versions) and the compact L4 (competing with Volvo EX30 and BMW iX1) will follow. Prices have not been announced.

Ford Bronco Heritage Edition 2026: SUV with retro design and Sasquatch package

Ford has introduced the Bronco Heritage Edition 2026, featuring exclusive 17-inch white retro-style wheels. The standard Sasquatch package includes four-wheel drive, 35-inch off-road tires, increased ground clearance, fender flares, and Bilstein shocks. The 2.3L turbo engine (275 hp) is now available with either a manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission; a 2.7L V6 (330 hp) is optional. Pricing starts at $51,625 for the manual version and $53,420 for the automatic.

Daihatsu Hijet converted into a compact motorhome

Japanese company Direct Cars has introduced two camper versions based on the Daihatsu Hijet. The Dune Rover model with Raptor protective coating and sleeping for four is equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, and air conditioning, but lacks a toilet and shower. The more urban PLAT version features an aerodynamic body and an enlarged kitchen area. Both models use a 660 cc engine and are offered with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with prices starting from ¥4.39 million.
