VanBasket, van life cost index, food price index, living cost index

The VanBasket Index is a food and essential goods price index developed by OpenVan.camp to help van lifers and motorhome travelers compare living costs across countries. A score of 100 equals the world average.

The index is based on the World Bank International Comparison Program (ICP) 2021 baseline, adjusted monthly using IMF Consumer Price Index data. Countries with a VanBasket score below 70 are considered budget-friendly; above 130 are expensive.
