PPD — Brazilian motorhome stop: overnight parking + grey-water disposal (community shorthand)
PPD, ponto de pernoite e descarte, overnight and dump point Brazil, Brazilian motorhome dump-and-stay, motorhome stopover Brazil
PPD is a Brazilian motorhome-community shorthand for a stop that combines overnight parking (pernoite) with grey/black water disposal (descarte) — typically a sub-type of ponto de apoio at a gas station or municipal park. Note: the official DNIT road-authority expansion of PPD is Ponto de Parada e Descanso (truck rest-stop infrastructure); the motorhome meaning is community-coined.
Listed in App Motorhomeiro, MotorhomeTrips, regional Facebook groups, and the collaborative Apoio RV map. Especially useful on long runs in the South, on the BR-101, and across the Centro-Oeste where camping de apoio coverage is thin. At selected Petrobras and Shell stations — often free with a purchase. Note: officially, the Brazilian road authority DNIT uses “PPD” to mean Ponto de Parada e Descanso (truck rest infrastructure); “PPD” as Ponto de Pernoite e Descarte is an informal community-coined term used by motorhomers.
