In 2025, Germany recorded a record number of overnight stays in campsites — nearly 44.7 million, which is 4.2% more than in 2024. The most popular regions were the Baltic Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein (3.5 million overnight stays), the Black Forest (2.6 million), and the North Sea coast in Lower Saxony (2 million). The cost of pitches for motorhomes has increased by 32.2% since 2020.

On Easter Sunday, unknown persons stole two game consoles from an unlocked motorhome at a campsite on Lake Murner. The damage is estimated at over 1000 euros. The Schwandorf police are looking for witnesses.

Ahorn Camp has introduced the updated TE 740 motorhome based on the new Renault Master. The model features a revised layout with longitudinal sofas, a compact kitchen, and a separate rear bedroom, and has switched to production within the Erwin Hymer Group.

German company Ari Motors has introduced the electric 458 Pro campervan, positioned as the smallest motorhome in Germany. The vehicle has 20 hp, a top speed of 70 km/h, and a range of 180 to 230 km. The base price starts at €25,530 before taxes.

The campsite in Kassel on the Fulda River was almost fully booked over the Easter holidays. In 2025, overnight stays there increased to 41,000 compared to 28,000 in 2024, and the number of advance bookings nearly doubled. This trend aligns with a national record in Germany, where nearly 44.7 million overnight stays at campsites were recorded in 2025.

A study conducted in February 2026 identified the motorhome and caravan insurers perceived as fairest by customers. The survey involved 2394 customers of 28 companies, who evaluated them on 15 criteria across four categories: product offering, price-performance ratio, customer service, and claims settlement. Ten insurers received a 'very good' rating, and nine others were rated 'good'.
