Motorhome Check: Why the Handbrake Can Become a Risk Over Winter

Since June 2025, mandatory gas equipment inspection for motorhomes and caravans has been reinstated in Germany. The inspection must be conducted every two years, costs 40-80 euros, and delays can result in fines up to 60 euros.

German company ARI Motors has introduced the fully electric ARI 458 Pro Campingmobil motorhome. It measures 3.82 meters in length and 1.49 meters in width. The model is delivered without interior fittings for self-conversion, features a 15 kW electric motor, and is offered with two battery options providing a range of 120 to 230 km. Sales will start in May 2026, with a base price of 25,530 euros excluding VAT.

Police in Wesel are investigating a caravan fire that occurred on March 30. The caravan, parked in the backyard of an apartment building on Jahnstraße, burned out completely, but firefighters prevented the flames from spreading. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

The FritzBerger online store is running a sale of motorhome equipment until April 8, 2026. The promotion includes lithium batteries, solar panels, refrigerators, and other gear with discounts of up to 33%.

Auto Zeitung magazine presented a ranking of eight all-wheel drive campervans based on van chassis. The list includes models on Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, and VW Crafter bases from manufacturers such as Adria, Pössl, Hymer, Karmann, La Strada, Terracamper, Weinsberg, and Yucon, with lengths from six to seven meters and base prices starting from around €66,000.

ARI Motors has introduced the ARI 458 Pro, a compact electric vehicle designed for self-conversion into a camper. The model, with a claimed floor area of 2.8 m² and a standing height of 1.85 m, comes with a solar panel, an auxiliary battery, and water tanks, but lacks interior furnishings. Pricing starts at 30,400 euros, with orders opening on May 1, 2026.
