Motorhome and van destroyed in fire in Dordogne

France has the most extensive network of motorhome service areas in Europe. According to the Park4night platform as of February 2026, France has 3,315 such sites, Germany has 2,751, Italy has 1,948, and Spain has 1,543. However, some popular tourist countries like Ireland, Greece, and Croatia have a limited number of service areas.

The lottery in Pontivy, Brittany, attracted 4200 participants and awarded 70 prizes totaling over €100,000. The main prize, a motorhome, was won by Bénédicte, a 44-year-old home care aide from Arcachon.

The Camping-Quart service has switched to an annual subscription model for motorhome rentals. Two plans are available: for 249 euros per month — seven weeks of rental in the low season; for 299 euros — seven weeks distributed across all seasons, with a limit of 1400 km per week. Maintenance, insurance, and assistance are included.

Boho Camper Vans has introduced the Buttercup motorhome based on a Ram ProMaster chassis. It is equipped with a 500-watt solar panel, a battery bank, a 3000-watt inverter, and a 125-liter water tank. The interior layout includes a lounge area, a full kitchen, and a standard-size bed.

French singer Daniel Guichard presented his motorhome, which is 9.27 meters long and 2.40 meters wide. He purchased it just before the COVID-19 pandemic and now uses it to travel across France with his wife Christine, avoiding hotel stays.

French company Van Mania will begin offering conversion solutions for large vans into campers starting in 2026. Four layout options have been presented, including the Zéphyr model with three sleeping areas and a kitchen, priced from €9,000 to €28,280.
