Daihatsu, in collaboration with Suzuki and Toyota, launched the e-Atrai and e-Hijet Cargo electric vans in February 2026. Designed with vanlife in mind, they feature a fully flat cargo floor over 1.8 meters long and a standard 1500W AC outlet for powering appliances. The range is 257 km, only marginally better than the rival Honda N-VAN e:, due to a less aggressive regenerative braking system on their rear-wheel-drive platform.
