The municipality of Melgaço is studying the installation of a motorhome park. Mayor José Albano Domingues met with the European service area network CampingCarPark at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange to analyze the project's feasibility. The goal is to develop local tourism and attract new visitors.

The Muralha motorhome service area in Vila Real de Santo António has reopened after a temporary closure due to flood risk. The facility was preventively closed because of its proximity to the Guadiana River and adverse weather conditions. The local council stated that the reopening followed an improvement in conditions, allowing users to return safely.

The Ribatejo region in Portugal is expanding its network of service areas for motorhomes to attract off-season tourism. The goal is to establish 28 fully-equipped areas with water, electricity, and waste disposal by the end of 2025. Investments in new areas, such as in Chamusca, have exceeded 100,000 euros.

A new motorhome service area has opened in the Portuguese town of Almeirim. The investment totaled 203 thousand euros, with 91 thousand contributed by Turismo de Portugal. The facility for 24 vehicles provides access to water, sanitation, and electricity and is part of a program to build 49 such sites in the region.
